In the Minitopics section of this months issue of Microbe (the ASM New magazine) there was a comment about milk oligosaccharides and bifidobacteria in reference to the recent PNAS review authored by Drs Zivkovic, Lebrilla, German and Mills.
At the recent American Dairy Science Association meeting in Denver, Dr. Mills was awarded the Cargill Flavor Systems Food Specialties Award for his research contributions on the microbiology of cheese and cultured dairy products.
A recent paper by David Sela entitled "The complete genome sequence of Bifidobacterium longum subsp. infantis suggests adaptation for milk utilization within the infant microbiome" published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences was recently profiled in Nature Microbiology Reviews,
